About CLIC Sargent

CLIC Sargent is a charity in the United Kingdom formed in 2005. CLIC Sargent is the UK's leading cancer charity for children, young people and their families. Its care teams provide specialist support across the UK.

CLIC Sargent offers specialist support to people from diagnosis onwards and aims to help the whole family deal with the impact of cancer and its treatment, life after treatment and, in some cases, bereavement.

Finding out your child has cancer is a frightening experience and may have an overwhelming impact on your day-to-day life. Our information is designed to support you with many different aspects of childhood cancer - from the impact on siblings, work, education, life in hospital and much more.

CLIC Sargent healthcare professionals support children under 16 and their families during treatment. Their CLIC Sargent Nurses work in every principal treatment centre in Great Britain. They also have eight CLIC Sargent Play Specialists who support younger children in several principal treatment centres across the UK.

When your child is being treated for cancer, you will almost certainly have extra costs. CLIC Sargent can help you access financial support, such as benefits, allowances and grants. Our welfare advisers can also offer free advice.

The charity also undertakes research into the impact of cancer on children and young people. It uses this evidence to raise awareness and to seek to influence government and policy-makers, and those who provide public services across the UK.
